Pirelli INTERNETional Prize in Multimedia: In 2005, Caroline’s science-learning Instructional Media Group in the Institute for Science Learning (founded with Skip) was awarded the
Pirelli INTERNETional Prize in Multimedia Science Education, considered the major award in multimedia science learning.
Public Service Award: In 2003, Skip’s DESTINY Traveling Science Laboratory Program’s service to secondary science education was awarded the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Carolina Center for Public Service “Office of the Provost Public Service Award.”
National Recognition for Science Education: In 2003, the Building Engineering & Science Talent (BEST) National Report to the Congressional Commission on the Advancement of Women, Minorities, and People with Disabilities in Science, Engineering and Technology recognized Skip’s Partnership for Minority Advancement in the Biomolecular Sciences as one of seven national “BEST Exemplary Higher Education Programs”. This recognition was for tangible accomplishments and the ability to build multi-institutional collaborations.
